Aim of Traditional Thai Massage Course

Thai massage courses taught at SANUK are based on the ancient Thai tradition in its various forms. You will learn the protocols of Chiang Mai style from northern Thailand and the essence of the Imperial style known as Wat Po. You will learn how to work with the patients' body in all positions: supine, prone, lateral and sitting. Furthermore, you will study the energy channels (Sen lines according to Thai tradition) and the muscularskeletal structure for a better treatment of your patients. Part of the course will also focus on joint manipulation and stretching based on yoga. Therefore Tradictional Thai Massage is an ideal massage for beginners as well as professionals in the field of massage, Yoga and other bodywork methods.

Gastón Diaz, expert in Traditional Thai massage; Chiang Mai, Wat Po and Tau Dee (using the feet) style. He is an experienced, qualified personal trainer and massage therapist with further training in Thai Foot Reflexology and Thai Oil Massage, as well as Kinesiology and Thai Vedic Bodywork. Gastón also masters Kobi-do, Japanese facial massage, and Californian massage. 
 
Siska Vergauwe, trained in Traditional Thai Massage (Chiang Mai style) and Thai Massage: using your feet (at Sunshine School, Chiang Mai, Thailand). She is also qualified and experienced in Traditional Thai Massage (Wat Po style), Kobi-do, Japanese facial massage and Ayurvedic Massage. Siska is also a certified yoga teacher of Mindful Therapeutic Hatha Yoga (at the Mindful Yoga Academy through the Yoga Alliance).

The next course will be held on the following weekends:

March 2 - 3, March 9-10, March 16 - 17 

and will have the following schedule:

Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 (with one hour break to agree with the teachers).

Course duration is 30hrs divided in two Units.

Course price is 380 euros

Unit 1: (10 hrs)

• Traditional Thai Massage Origins.

• Special Chiang Mai

• Four elements and energy channels or lines Sen.

 

Unit 2 (20hrs)

• Learning sequence step by step: Ways of working side, prone, supine and sitting.

• Manual techniques used: we explore a wide variety of techniques using feet, palms, forearms, elbows, thumbs and fingers

• Assisted stetchings

• Joint mobilisations.

 

Price includes a manual with photos of the sequence and a Diploma.

Course will take place on the 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th of March 2019.
